Webheads have been waiting for months for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to finally drop the official trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home and the moment they did, the entire comic book film fandom exploded in sheer excitement. However, despite all the hype it generated online, some fans were a little disappointed when they didn't see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who are both heavily rumored to be making appearances in the project.

Some people couldn't help but second-guess the authenticity of the said rumors but the majority of fans are still convinced that the iconic Spidey actors are set for a grand Marvel homecoming along with MCU mainstay Tom Holland in December. Marvel and Sony have previously reiterated that No Way Home won't see the returns of either Tobey and Andrew but one of the film's stars may have dropped a major spoiler regarding the rumored castings.

The Illuminerdi recently caught up with JB Smoove, the actor who played one of Midtown's teachers, Mr. Dell, in Spider-Man: Far From Home and he didn't think twice in "confirming" that both Tobey and Andrew are in fact part of the project. When asked which version of the web-slinger he was excited to see Tom Holland share the screen with, he swiftly answered: "Woo! Tobey Maguire, of course, man."

There's a good chance that Mr. Dell is actually part of the scenes where Tobey, Andrew, and Tom share the screen together so Smoove's comments hold some credibility. Still, I get that his statement will probably mean nothing to some fans and at the end of the day, Marvel and Sony's official confirmation is still what they're waiting for, and quite frankly, me too.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
