The first Mayfair Witches teaser features Alexandra Daddario as the thirteenth witch.

Daddario co-stars with Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa, Beth Grant, and Harry Hamlin in the series. Rowan Mayfair, a neurosurgeon, discovers she is the heir of a line of witches in the Mayfair Witches novel trilogy.

The plot of Mayfair Witches will be identical to that of the book, with Daddario's Rowan battling a dark presence who is believed to have haunted her family for generations.

The first video of the Mayfair Witches was released through a tweet from the Interview with a Vampire account. In the brief clip, Daddario can be seen pushing through a gate while unsettling music plays over the chanting of names, including Rowan's.

AMC Brings Audiences to Anne Rice's Works

Anne Rice's novel Interview with the Vampire was first published in 1976. Her books, however, took on new life as film adaptations. Interview with the Vampire was adapted into a 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, which introduced new audiences to her work and paved the way for additional projects such as Queen of the Damned.

Rice's works are being introduced to new audiences thanks to AMC shows like Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire.

Now, Rice's work is being revitalized for new viewers, with Interview with the Vampire already making its debut to overwhelmingly great reviews and Mayfair Witches scheduled for next year.

AMC also has the chance to create a television universe that is interrelated because the novels have crossovers with the characters.

With audiences responding positively to interconnected universes spanning multiple properties, much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rice's fans may be eager for the same, even allowing the shows to gain a larger fanbase because of it.

Still, AMC is clearly confident that Mayfair Witches will connect with audiences when it releases next year.
