Maverick Star Miles Teller Addresses Green Lantern and Nova Fan Casting Demands

Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller is clueless that fans have fan-casted him as DC's Green Lantern or MCU's Nova. After starring in 2015’s Fantastic Four reboot, it looks like fans still want to see the actor in the superhero genre. Luckily, for Teller, he is down to play both.

In an interview with Comicbook.com's Chris Killian, Miles Teller revealed that he is down to play either DC's Green Lantern or Marvel's Nova. "I haven't heard any of those rumblings yet but I'm sure if they get loud enough, then I will hear," Teller said. "Yeah, for sure [I'd be down]. I love the fanbase. I love the Marvel and DC fanbases and I love those movies as an audience member and it seems they've taken these characters more and more seriously because the fans deserve it. There's nothing cheap about those characters and if the right thing came along I'd be open to it for sure."

Teller's last venture into the world of superheroes was in 2015's reboot of Fantastic Four, where he played Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic. Sadly, the film was shot down with negative reviews, and the possibility of getting a sequel seems highly unlikely at this point.

2015's Fantastic Four also tremendously flopped at the box office and grossed only $167.9 million worldwide, even lower than 2005's Fantastic Four, which earned $333.5 million at the global box office.

If Marvel and DC executives are listening, this would be the perfect time to give Miles Teller a second shot in the superhero genre. The actor's recent outing as Bradley Bradshaw in Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick is dominating at the box office, and Teller was also getting monumental credit for his brilliant performance. Evidently, if the script is good, Teller would undoubtedly deliver.

Top Gun: Maverick is still showing in theaters.
