This weekend Star Wars Rebels is going to close the curtain on its third season with an hour-long episode, and fans are expecting an explosive, high-stakes season finale.
The series often gives strong ends to its seasons -remember that blazing lightsaber battle between Darth Vader and his former apprentice Ahsoka in season 2- and it looks like the series is going to go all out in season 3 finale with Maul voice actor Sam Witwer teasing the unrestrained power of the episode.
Speaking on the Full Of Sith podcast to talk about last week's poetic Obi-Wan and Maul showdown in Twin Suns, Witwer gets to discuss the scale of the Star Wars Rebels season 3 closing episode.
When asked to expound further on his description of the "mind altering" finale, Witwer replies.
"Oh God. Yeah, so… You know how some people are like… Look, the Sith way of looking at this would be ‘there should have been a big fight'. Right? Um, don't worry. Like, if this was the restrained episode, the finale is the unrestrained epis- Oh my God, I mean like the stuff they pulled off I don't even understand how they even attempted it. It's pretty insane, so I'll just say that."
Given that the recently released trailer already promised an intense fight between the Rebels and the Empire, it's no surprise to hear Witwer setting fans up for a powerful episode this Saturday. The Rebellion won't be having it easy this time, and everyone's holding their breath to see who makes it out alive.
The two-part season finale of Star Wars Rebels season 3 airs this Saturday at 8:30 pm ET/PT on Disney XD.
