Does Matthew Perry Has 'Bitter Hatred' For Keanu Reeves?

Perry hasn't worked with Reeves, but he made two references to him in his upcoming memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing after he lost two of his pals due to overdose.

Perry made his movie debut in the 1988 film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon with Reeves' longtime BFF River Phoenix. In the film, Perry plays Phoenix's best friend, and they eventually develop a close friendship. However, Phoenix died in 1993 due to an overdose. He was 23.

"Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?" he wrote, Page Six reported.

"River was a beautiful man inside and out and too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down," Perry continued.

He mentioned Reeves in his book again when Chris Farley passed away also due to an overdose in 1997. He was 33.

Perry and Farley starred in the comedy movie Almost Heroes in 1988.

"I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston's dressing room wall when I found out," he wrote. "Keanu Reeves walks among us."

There were no additional references to Reeves in Perry's memoir, and he also didn't explain why he felt that way toward the 47 Ronin star. Based on the reports, they haven't worked together, and it's unclear if they have already met, according to MovieWeb.
