Matt Reeves' The Batman Reportedly Casting POC For Catwoman

Matt Reeves' The Batman has most of its plot yet to be announced. And when news on Robert Pattinson being cast as the hero was out, fans are trying to piece together just what the director is up to in an effort to contribute to the DC Extended Universe.

Production for The Batman hasn't started yet, and reports say that the movie would be adapting the science fiction novel titled Way Station. Up till now, this is the only information we know about the plot.

Word is going around with regards to the casting rumors, starting with Commissioner Jim Gordon to be played by Westworld Fame's Jeffrey Wright. As well as 21 Jump Street star Jonah Hill, rumored to play either The Riddler or Penguin.

Previous speculations also suggest that Catwoman might appear in the film. And the role might be played by High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens or Zoe Kravitz who starred in X-Men: First Class as Angel Salvadore.

Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman's character was mentioned on a podcast hosted by Robbie Fox. Variety reporter Justin Kill talked about the film, spilling a little bit of casting information. He revealed that Warner Bros. Pictures are reportedly looking for an actress of color to play Catwoman on the big screen (via Jeff Sneider). This tells us that the character will likely be featured in The Batman movie. You can check out the tweet below:

Frankly, Pattinson's role is the only thing about the project that fans are absolutely sure of. Previous casting rumors are yet to be confirmed but it looks like we're going to see Catwoman in the movie after all! For now, we still have to wait for further announcements.

The Batman will be released on June 25, 2021
