Matrix 4 Reportedly Casting Young Neo Alongside Keanu Reeves

The Wachowskis will be continuing on the Matrix Franchise with their fourth film starring Michael B. Jordan which is said to be the lead. While original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.

Information regarding the movie's plot is yet to be announced but it looks like the studio intends to cast a young Neo to appear on the big screen.

This news was revealed by Variety reporter Justin Kroll in a recent episode of Robbie Fox's My Mom's Basement podcast. The Batman was also included in their discussion. Jeff Sneider shared this via Twitter, saying Kroll revealed tidbits about the casting for the movie. He did not say much though, but the info is vital. You can check out the tweet below:

Warner Bros. seeking an actor to play a younger version Neo is likely that the movie would feature some backstories and to replicate The Matrix's vibe as much as possible.

As of now, we have no idea what story Lana Wachowski is planning to do with The Matrix 4. Although this movie is ought to be highly-anticipated since the ever-popular Keanu Reeves will return to the franchise. Despite his character being dead in The Matrix Revolutions, his part of the movie isn't definite yet. Reeves' return could be a good contrast for the potential flashbacks that might be featured with the young Neo.

It's no question that looking for a young Neo will be hard, once cast, it could be even tougher for the potential actor to live up with the pressures of playing a young Keanu Reeves.

Wachowski will work on a script written by Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell. The Matrix 4 doesn't have a release date just yet, but production might begin sometime in 2020.
