Here's What Happened Before Mashle Episode 4
Mash borrows a broom from Finn after bringing a burdock to school by mistake.
He needs a broom for one of their lessons, and the teachers will teach them how to ride one using magic.
The professor told Mash to channel his magic energy into the broom and say the word "fly."
Afterward, he must straddle it and regulate his magic to keep it afloat.
Everyone does what is told, while Mash stomps on the ground to make his broom float.
It’s fair enough for Mash, who can’t even use magic, but unacceptable for one of his classmates.
The lecturer then instructed everyone to prepare for the timed trials.
Mash is challenged by the same classmate who picked on him to determine who is faster.
Mash's great physical abilities compensate for his lack of magic, as expected.
He flung the broom with all his might and leaped immediately, fooling everyone into thinking he could ride it.
Only Finn Ames managed to catch Mash, while the professor and the rest of his classmates believed he had set a world record with his remarkable speed.
Seeing this, a suspicious student named Lloyd Cavill approaches Mash and asks him to be his friend.
He also told Mash to come again to the field after class, but he only got "huh" as a response.
According to Finn, everyone is afraid of Lloyd Cavill because he’s the son of a high-ranking member of the Bureau of Magic.
If Mash stands against Cavill, he will be expelled.
Worse, the vice principal is related to Cavill's family. If Mash gets on the wrong side, he will be forced to drop out immediately.
After class, Mash decided to bake some cream puffs. He forgot that he had to meet Cavill on the field, which angered the latter even more.
The following day, Mash discovers that his potion textbook has been torn apart.
Cavill appears and tells Mash that he can help him become a divine visionary only if he does what he tells him to do.
Mash agrees, and he becomes Cavill’s lackey. From wiping Cavill’s shoes to cleaning up after his mess, Mash has been true to his words.
However, Mash caught Cavill punishing Finn in the hallways.
It turns out that Finn was Cavill’s assistant and the person responsible for tearing Mash’s textbooks.
Finn wants to stop picking on Mash, but Cavill got mad. This explains why Finn is on his knees and Cavill has him bound by magic.
This angered Mash, and he pummeled Cavill’s head onto the floor, much to everyone’s surprise.
He asked Cavill to apologize to Finn, despite knowing that he could be expelled after what he did.
Soon after, Vice Principal Farman emerged and informed Mash and Finn that a school conference would be held to discuss their roles in the violent attack against Cavill.
But Mash did not bother to hear his words as he kicked the vice principal’s face.
Mash did it because the vice principal didn’t seem that open to his reasons, so he couldn’t help himself.
What’s more, Mash buries the vice principal on the floor.
The vice principal told him that he could expel him at any time, but Mash retorted, saying that he could bury him at any time as well.
Headmaster Wahlberg summoned Mash due to his crimes. He told Mash that he received an expulsion letter from the Bureau of Magic because of what happened.
It did not sway Mash, and the headmaster burned the expulsion letter with his magic.
He told Mash that he wants him to become a divine visionary and change the current state of the world.
The headmaster also explained how Mash can become a Divine Visionary.
But due to the specifics, Mash’s brain overloaded to the point of unconsciousness.
As a result, the headmaster condensed the information and instructed Mash to get excellent grades in his classes and collect as many coins as possible.
Mash ended up with no punishment, and he was even acknowledged by all the students in the institution.
This resulted in Mash being scouted by Tom Knowles to play for the Adler dorm in a duel against the Lang dorm.
Duelo is the number one sport in the academy, and it involves brooms.
Mash tries to tell Tom that he can’t ride the broom, but the latter is very persistent about having him as his teammate.
Before the episode ends, the duelo match begins, and Mash is left on the ground watching everyone fly with their brooms.
