Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a hilarious anime where a lot of the comedy comes from unexpected reactions from its characters. So, it’s no surprise when Lemon Irvine VA Reina Ueda revealed that Mashle has a lot of ad-libbed moments during the recording.
While the original manga is already quite funny, having the voice cast ad-lib lines adds even more comedy to it as even manga readers won’t know what to expect at times.
Though aside from sharing some funny recording moments, Ueda also shared her thoughts on the anime as well as its other characters.
Reina Ueda Reveals Her Thoughts on Mashle and Her Character Lemon
Reina Ueda (who also voiced Akane in SSSS.Gridman) told Febri in a recent interview how the show has the right mix of comedy and seriousness.
She explains that the comedic scenes make the show light while enhancing the impact of the serious moments.
She also mentioned that she is charmed by her character, Lemon.
Specifically, she points out Lemon’s single-mindedness and courage as some positives.
Though Ueda did say that if she were transported into the world of Mashle, she probably won’t be able to talk to Lemon who will likely be busy devoting herself to Mash.
On the flip side, Ueda believes that she can become friends with Mash, which may soon also enable her to get close to Lemon.
Aside from these two characters, Ueda also noted that she also likes Mash’s grandpa, Regro, for his dedication to Mash, as well as Brad for giving Mash the opportunity to study at Easton Academy.

Ueda Shares Her Funny Ad-Libbed Recording Experience
In a previous interview with Mash’s VA, it was revealed that Ueda ad-libbed some scenes.
Now, Ueda herself also confirmed that there were many ad-libbed scenes during the recording.
This freedom allowed the voice cast to enjoy the recording, as well as make some scenes even funnier.
Because of this, Ueda said it was a fun time, though it was difficult to hold back their laughter during the recording.
Plus, she also said that the cast was treated to lots of cream puffs at the recording site, adding to how enjoyable the experience was for them.
