Marvel’s Kevin Feige on The Grand Plan For Phase 4 Of The MCU

Marvel had a lot of huge reveals during this year's San Diego Comic-Con International. Not only did the studio confirm movies like The Eternals and Shang-Chi, but it also revealed its entire slate for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While fans still have questions about what Marvel has planned for fan-favorite characters and heroes, Marvel President Kevin Feige promises that the studio has everything planned out.

Speaking with CNN after Marvel's Hall H panel at SDCC, Feige assured fans that while Marvel's plans for Phase 4 of the MCU might be set in stone, the next phase of the franchise would be based on what the studio develops in its current slate.

"There always is [a bigger vision], and it sort of only comes into view for others as it all solidifies," the Marvel producer explained. "So ask me again at the end of 2021. But I will say, post-Endgame, we were always about the new. We were always about doing what we always tried to do in Phase One, Two and Three, which is do a film of character you already know, [like] Black Widow, in a way that you don't expect."

We can only wonder what Marvel has planned for the bigger picture of the MCU though. Phase 4 of the franchise is the first phase without any Avengers movie, sparking the question of how Marvel plans to tie together the new slate of Marvel movies. We hope that Marvel will reveal more of its plans in time.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres May 1, 2020.
