Marvel's Inhumans Bombed At The Box Office

Marvel's Inhumans is off to a really rough start, one that it might not be able to overcome. Before the series debuts later this month, the first two episodes were shown in IMAX theaters over the weekend. However, the big debut didn't make a lot of money, and is actually dead last in the box office charts, making it a Marvel bomb.

According to Comscore, the first two episodes only made $1.5 million dollars domestic, with an extra $1.1 million from international screenings. While no one was expecting it to top the box office, it's doubtful Marvel wanted the film to be in the bottom either. Here is hoping that the full eight episode series surprises fans, or it could end up being another Iron Fist.

Early reports claimed that Marvel's Inhumans was made quickly and cheaply, despite a few protests from the head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb. This was pretty apparent by Medusa's odd CGI hair, and some of the other characters shown in the trailer. Add the negative reviews, and it's clear that the show will need a boost in quality in order to stay relevant, considering that it is a Marvel product.

Marvel's Inhumans will premiere in ABC this month, on September 29. Can the show reel in fans? Or will it be cancelled alongside the acclaimed Agent Carter? Only time will tell.
