Marvel's Infinity Wars Event Keeps Killing Off Major Characters

When Infinity Wars was first announced, fans rolled their eyes a bit since they thought it was just trying to capitalize on the success of the film. And yet, when the first few issues hit fans were genuinely surprised to see the number of deaths that were happening in such a quick manner. Admittedly, some of those deaths lacked meaning since one of those characters came back but the series is proving to be a fairly entertaining romp.

SPOILERS FOR INFINITY WARS

The series started off with a bang by killing Thanos and then shocked fans more when Star-Lord was next on the list, though that ended up being temporary. In a neat twist, Gamora is the main villain of the series and even offed Thanos herself, which was a nice wink to fans who saw Infinity War.

During Infinity Wars #2, Gamora continues her latest temporary killing streak by decapitating Adam Warlock. Considering the history these characters have together, it is a bit shocking seeing her kill Warlock. However, she laments that he will "come back anyway" and that Adam "always does." She is proven right since we see Adam's cocoon soon after, implying that he is being reborn.

Gamora now has most of the Infinity Stones in her grasp and it will be interesting to see what her end goal is. This series has been a surprise to many fans, so those looking for a fun event should put this on their pull-list.

Infinity Wars #2 by Gerry Duggan and Mike Deodato Jr is now available in comic book stores.
