Marvel’s Doctor Doom Had His Own Toothy Version of The Death Star

The Marvel Universe may have nothing to do with Star Wars but that doesn't mean that Marvel isn't allowed to make a few nods to everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away.

In fact, a Marvel comic has Doctor Doom parading around his own Death Star across the galaxy. In Spidey Super Stories #31 by Kolfax Migno, Mike Esposito, and Win Mortimer, fans get to see Spider-Man and traveling to space together with Marvel Boy, Sam the Robot, and Paul the Gorilla to save Moondragon from the tyranny of Doctor Doom (via Screen Rant).

The superhero team soon discovers that Doctor Doom has a space station of his own called Star Jaws – a weapon that looks much like a Death Star with teeth that feasts on other planets.

The comic is clearly making a parody of Star Wars, though we do have to say that a Death Star with giant teeth is pretty menacing in itself.

Making their way inside Star Jaws, Spider-Man and his team try to defeat Doctor Doom and his army of robots while the villain tries to use his massive space weapon to swallow the Earth. When they escape Star Jaws, the heroes then work with Pentagon to send explosives into space to destroy the weapon.

The comic is one hell of a ride, that's for sure. Imagine that – the Earth being eaten by a copy of the Death Star called Star Jaws. Good thing Doctor Doom doesn't have the capacity to build a second Star Jaws.

Marvel's next comic book movie, Black Widow, is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
