Marvel's Avengers SDCC Gameplay Footage Reveals Alternate Costumes for All Characters

When Marvel's Avengers was first unveiled, fans were pretty disappointed with the character models shown. True, licensing the likeness of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and the other Marvel Cinematic Universe actors would have been costly but they could have made those in-game models look better. While Crystal Dynamics won't be changing the models, there is a positive; alternate costumes!

The Marvel's Avengers SDCC gameplay footage showed off customizable characters, allowing players to outfit their heroes with gear from classic costumes seen in the comics. Prominent costumes shown include Iron Man's armor from Original Sin and Hulk's classic Joe Fixit look. This means we could get other classic costumes for Captain America and Thor, which means we won't be stuck with their awkward-looking outfits seen in the very first trailer.

Fans are still waiting to see the footage themselves since not everyone can afford a ticket to SDCC. We're gonna have to wait till late next month to see it since the Marvel Games panel confirmed that we would see the gameplay footage sometime after Gamescom 2019, which takes place from August 20 to August 24. This means we will probably see the footage around August 26 or later.

Marvel's Avengers comes out on May 15, 2020. Which classic comic book costumes do you guys want to see in the game? Here's hoping for Captain America's classic uniform from Jack Kirby.
