A mini event is ongoing in Marvel Avengers Academy. A.I.M.'s attack marked the new event, which is set to end on Aug. 23.
Now, players can see that Scientist Supreme leads A.I.M. is going on the offensive, which forces players to try and rescue some recruits who are trapped in M.O.D.O.K.'s psionic trap.
Marvel has a few more details on the new event, care of TinyCo Senior Narrative Designer Allen Warner. According to Warner, Scientist Supreme and A.I.M. Institute has been on the offensive ever since, though their efforts have been in vain.
And it seems that this is the last desperate move and a culmination of the A.I.M. storyline for Marvel Avengers Academy. The new event will see some new heroes assisting to defeat the evil forces.
"Squirrel Girl and Phil Coulson! The first phase of A.I.M.'s attack on Avengers Academy is to round up some of the Academy's respective recruits, so Squirrel Girl and Coulson end up trapped in M.O.D.O.K.'s psionic beams. Players will free them from M.O.D.O.K., so that they can join the fight against AIM's forces alongside other S.H.I.E.L.D. Recruits."
It seems that Squirrel Girl wants to get in on the action of the Avengers and work side-by-side with some of the bigwigs. Warner confirmed that Squirrel Girl will get some of the cool animations in the game as they will involve squirrels.

As for Coulson, he will be bringing in his funny business guy demeanor whose goal is to be part of the team who protects. For his animations, it seems that the developer is amping up the fun by letting him do his best impersonations of the heroes.
Even though the two characters are coming to Marvel Avengers Academy, the developer still has one more hero surprise somewhere down the line. There's also a next major event scheduled after the A.I.M. mini event, and it will bring some iconic characters from both the comics and TV to the Avengers Academy.
