A fan-requested character is coming to Marvel Puzzle Quest. Marvel revealed that Black Bolt will be bringing some sonic pain into the game, and designer Patch Rodriguez has recently shared some thoughts and insights about the character.
Speaking in an interview over the official Marvel website, Rodriguez said that he is bringing the supportive role of king in Black Bolt as seen in the 1998 version of Inhumans.
This is also, what makes Black Bolt's character in the game take on a more interesting approach.
"I feel that one of Black Bolt's key character points is his self-restraint. He's trained himself not to utter a sound so as not to inadvertently hurt those around him, so he never uses his power unless absolutely necessary. This is an admirable quality for a king because it shows his people that he truly cares about protecting them and that he'd be able to defend against any enemies should the need arise."
His first Power, Quasi-sonic Whisper, makes use of his very tremendous and mountain-leveling voice. In Marvel Puzzle Quest, that translates to having five of every other color AP for a deadlier Quasi-Sonic Scream.
His second Power is a Black passive, where Black Bolt draws out the ambient energy around him to fly, enhance his physicality, and even make barriers. Finally, there's The Silent King, the final Power that creates the Motivation tile at eight Yellow AP. As the tile name suggests, the Power will increase all of Black Bolt's allies' Powers by two levels to a max of five.
Because of this, it seems that Black Bolt is almost like a support rather than an offense character, as he tempers the kind of assist he needs to deliver to the team.
Black Bolt is coming to Marvel Puzzle Quest come Thursday with the Latest Legends pack. So far, fans won't see the Inhuman Royal Family in the game yet, but Rodriguez has emphasized that another Inhuman, Queen Medusa, will be coming to the game.
