Marvel's Assembled: The Making of Eternals: Kevin Feige Describes the Film as "Redefining" the MCU

Since the pandemic, a special documentary series debuted for Marvel: Assembled, and it focuses on the behind-the-scenes of every release of the franchise from then on, starting with WandaVision. The Making of Eternals will feature a lot of insights on how the film was made and how Kevin Feige, himself, described the movie as one to redefine the MCU.

Marvel’s Assembled has been a joy to watch since it debuted on Disney Plus as it shows everyone the hard work that the people behind the scenes are putting through. It basically answers the questions of how the movie or series was made, how they pulled off the visual effects, and it even includes commentaries from the stars, the crew, and the big boss, Kevin Feige.

At one point of the documentary, Kevin Feige praised Eternals for being one of its kind, he said, “The impact that Eternals would have on the MCU will be nothing less than redefining the cinematic universe entirely.”

After a successful run of the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has become, one, if not the biggest, franchises that has garnered a solid fan base over the years and it continues to grow, too. As they delve into the fourth phase, however, the world was put to a stop by the pandemic and they had to adjust.

Marvel entered into the small screens through series and documentaries like Assembled and one of the recent releases of the franchise is Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao. As described by Gemma Chan who plays Sersi, the film is an ambitious one. It actually is considering that it will be the first time ten characters would be introduced at once, not to mention having a whole film tell a story that spans 7,000 years.

While some critics low-balled the film and did not quite get how redefining it was, giving the film a score lower than all other films in the MCU, it still paid off as Eternals was able to get through the message and the thought they would like to convey: there is more to the universe. It is also one of the most colorful mythologies in the entire Marvel history and it would be a waste not to have Eternals in the stage where the MCU is starting to rebuild itself.
