Marvel Writer Teases Fans What To Expect From Moon Knight

Moon Knight is going to begin production this year, and while Marvel has yet to reveal details about the story it plans to tell in the upcoming Disney+ series, screenwriter Beau DeMayo can't help but tease fans about the new Marvel project.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com to talk about Moon Knight, DeMayo tried his best to stay tight-lipped about the production. While he couldn't give specifics about the new series, the writer did say that Marvel fans would be happy with the new show.

"He has a rich legacy that's for sure," DeMayo tells the entertainment news outlet, reminding fans what they're in for when Marvel begins working on the new Spector series.

"All I can really say is, one, [showrunner] Jeremy Slater is a frigging badass. He's so smart. He is a great, awesome guy to work for," the screen writer adds, "And then, I know it sounds like pandering but it is so true that, as a fan coming into Marvel, it is so amazing to see the... we've heard it before with Kevin [Feige] and everybody's just... They do really care."

To those unfamiliar with the character, Moon Knight is a hero who first started out as a mercenary named Marc Spector. Left for dead by a ruthless African general, Spector finds himself resurrected by the ancient Egyptian moon god, Khonshu. In exchange, Spector has to become the moon god's avatar on earth. Spector becomes the hero Moon Knight, a hero whose powers are amplified by the phases of the moon.

Moon Knight has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
