Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb Wouldn't be Surprised if 'Defenders' Shows Return

Now that Punisher season 2 has come and gone, many are expecting Jessica Jones season 3 to be the last Marvel-related hurrah on Netflix. Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage no longer getting new seasons, fans have been a bit down lately though the promise of these shows returning in the future has people's hopes up. In fact, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb has stated that he wouldn't be surprised if these shows eventually make a comeback.

During an interview with Decider, Loeb said that he feels the Defenders lineup of shows that were canceled on Netflix have a good chance of coming back since they weren't pulled due to low ratings or anything like that. He even compared it to the ending of Legion, which was done since the show was only slated for three seasons so the finale will be more natural than most.

"I would not be surprised if any of those things reemerged. It depends on showrunner, it depends onavailabilityof cast, all of those things. It's not like we're a doctor show where the show got canceled because of bad ratings."
"These are shows that have very different reasons [for ending], most of which I'm not at liberty to talk about, nor should anyone really care at the end ofday."

Since Loeb is the head of Marvel TV, this should give fans some hope that these shows have a chance of returning at some point. Hulu has actually shown interest in bringing these serials back since the service will be home to several animated shows based on various Marvel characters.

Daredevil, The Defenders, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher can still be viewed on Netflix. Jessica Jones season 3 will be coming out sometime this year.
