Marvel Taking Major Step Forward With Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye Series

There was a whole lot of disappointment when word came out that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wouldn't be making its 2020 release on Disney+. While it isn't difficult to imagine the delay of multiple film and television projects at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic, fans couldn't help but feel upset to hear that Marvel series they were hoping to see this year had to be pushed back because of the novel coronavirus.

However, while Falcon and the Winter soldier takes a step back, it seems like Marvel is making good stride with Jeremy Renner's upcoming Hawkeye series.

According to a report by NME, Marvel Studios has just recently hired three up-and-coming directors to work on different episodes for the Hawkeye project.

This includes Katie Ellwood and Amber Finlayson from Troop Zero and Rhys Thomas from Staten Island Summer. We're not entirely sure which episodes are going to go to Ellwood, Finlayson, and Thomas, however, it seems like the three may be taking on the bulk of the new series considering the fact that Hawkeye is going to be limited to a 6-episode long arc.

Meanwhile, Hawkeye executive producer Jonathan Igla will be taking care of the film's script.

This is great news for Marvel fans. There hasn't been that much word about Hawkeye since the series was announced – though there have been a lot of reports discussing whether or not Renner is going to keep his place at Marvel considering the recent controversy surrounding the actor.

Hawkeye has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
