Marvel Studios Rolls Out Black Widow Merchandise Despite COVID-19 Delay

Marvel might have been forced to delay the release of Black Widow as a response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, however, that hasn't really stopped the studio from hyping up the movie by releasing merchandise.

According to a report by Comic Book Resources, Marvel continues to release merchandise for Black Widow even though it decided to push back the movie's May release to November. The studio began rolling out merchandise for Black Widow during the start of the year, and despite the COVID-19 lockdowns in place, the studio continues to release Black Widow items.

This shouldn't really come as a surprise of course. There's been a lot of backlash over the lack of Black Widow merchandise over the years – despite being one of the original members of the Avengers, Black Widow hasn't had that much merchandise. The character has always felt the full blow of gender discrimination in the toy market.

The lack of Black Widow merchandise from Marvel has sparked the #WhereIsBlackWidow movement on Twitter with angry fans demanding that Natasha Romanoff receive better representation in terms of merchandise.

Now, it looks like Marvel has decided to make amends, filling up fans with Black Widow merchandise in preparation for Natasha's upcoming standalone movie. There are Black Widow make-up inspired by the film, there are weekender bags, fashion apparel, Legos, as well as figurines from Hasbro, Funko Pops, Nerf toys.

It looks like Marvel fans have a lot of reasons to be excited for Black Widow this November.

Black Widow is set to premiere on November 6.
