Hugh Jackman Would Have Been Onboard with Wolverine in the MCU if Disney Purchased Fox Earlier

Hugh Jackman will always be Wolverine to many moviegoers. The Australian actor had been portraying Marvel's iconic X-Man since the 2000's X-Men movie and many tears were shed when this version of the character died in 2017's Logan. Even with the character's definitive death, many people still want to see Hugh Jackman reprise the role, especially since the X-Men characters can finally be in the MCU but the actor said he would have been open to the idea if it had happened sooner.

Speaking with The Daily Beast, Jackman insisted that he is done with the Wolverine character and feels that his legacy with the icon is pretty good right now. Still, had Disney purchased Fox or gained the X-Men rights earlier, seven years ago according to the actor, then he would have been all for it. However, that didn't happen and life went on.

"Honestly, Marlow, if seven years ago that had happened I'd be like, 'Oh yeah!' but I knew it was the right time for me to leave the party—not just for me, but for the character."

We don't blame Jackman for feeling that way since he's done all he could with the character, starring in a number of good and bad movies and gaining a ton of fans in the process. It's a shame that Fox's X-Men movies had such a messy timeline but Logan and X-Men: Days of Future Past proved that Fox could go toe-to-toe with the MCU, a lot of which can be attributed to Jackman's involvement.

You can watch all of Hugh Jackman's good Wolverine movies in most digital media, whether it be The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, Logan, and earlier X-Men films.
