There's no denying that Tony Stark's heroic death left a massive void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will never be filled by anyone. That said, considering the franchise is in the midst of its "Multiverse Saga", a lot of fans are hopeful that we'll get to see Robert Downey Jr. back as Iron Man in some capacity.
Well, we hate to burst your bubble but that doesn't seem to be the case and if anything, Marvel Studios is ready to move on from Downey's portrayal of the character. According to a scoop from Giant Freakin Robot, Marvel Studios is already looking for RDJ's replacement as Tony Stark.
Their source claims that the actor the studio is looking for is in his twenties or thirties and would play a younger version of Stark from, you guessed it, another universe because... multiverse.

Of course, with the MCU bringing in variants from different worlds and realities, it's only a matter of time before we see a version of Tony Stark pop up in the franchise. Many thought it would happen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but obviously, that wasn't the case.
As for those who would like to see Marvel Studios resurrect Earth-616's genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, bring Tony back to the main MCU timeline would only cheapen his ultimate sacrifice and this is also the reason why Chris Evans himself has expressed his second thoughts about returning as Captain America.
Speaking of Iron Man, Marvel Studios' Ironheart is set to premiere on Disney+ soon.
