Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee passed away earlier today and Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige has shared his farewell to the cameo king of the studio.
Taking to social media like all the others whose hearts broke after hearing the news of Lee's Passing, Feige decided to post his tribute the Marvel icon, writing a post about the impact that the comic book legend had on his career and how his legacy will outlive all of us.
"No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee," Feige wrote on his post. "Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all. Our thoughts are with his daughter, his family, and his millions of fans. #ThankYouStan #Excelsior!"
Ending his tweet, Feige decided to use one of Lee's most memorable catchphrases, Excelsior. Considered one of the biggest names in comic book history, Lee has also been considered one of the masterminds of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did Lee help create negotiations that would help keep the MCU together, but he was also behind the idea of a shared universe – an idea now used among many studios.
In the field of comic books, Lee was the man who created iconic comic book characters including Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the fantastic four and so many, many more at Marvel comics.
Lee passed away after being rushed from his home at Hollywood Hills early this morning to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Though we still have no information on the cause of the comic book legend's death, Lee reportedly passed away in the hospital where he was taken.
