Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Teases Stan Lee’s Lingering Cameos In The MCU

Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee may have passed away earlier today, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop seeing Marvel Studios' cameo king in the movies just yet. After posting his tribute to Lee on social media today, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige opened up about Lee's legacy and his continued roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking in an interview with Variety, Feige decided to discuss one of the heaviest concerns after Lee's passing – his cameos in the MCU. According to Marvel's head honcho, Lee will appear posthumously in some of Marvel's films.

"I'm not going to tell you what specifically, but Stan always appreciated a good surprise," Feige told the publication.

Lee had been such a large player in the comic book industry and in the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did the comic book legend create iconic characters like Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and so many other Marvel characters, but he also laid the foundation for the MCU with his idea of a shared universe.

"The amazing thing to be thankful for is that Stan got to see it all happen," Feige said in his interview with Variety. "Stan dominated pop culture. He saw it and was aware and he loved it. I've been saying for years that the characters he created will outlive all of us making the movies, and enter the pantheon of myth which he read and was inspired by as a kid."

This year, Marvel Studios has been celebrating its tenth anniversary, proving the lasting power of the characters that Lee created for comic book readers around the world.

Marvel's releases next year includes Avengers 4 which hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
