Marvel Studios Currently Working on 31 Projects Says Exec

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now in its 13th year and the franchise has become bigger than ever now that they are also venturing into television through Disney+. We've heard so many films and TV shows that are currently in the works at Marvel Studios, but how many exactly are they?

In an interview with 221radio, Victoria Alonso, the President of Physical, Post Production, VFX, and Animation at Marvel Studios, was asked about the number of projects that the studio is currently working on. The interviewer initially thought that it was 35, but Alonso corrected it.

"We are currently working on 31 projects, don't add 4 more, please [laughs]," Alonso said. "It is a question about how are we handling multiple plates in the air at the same time, and the biggest thing is that sometimes the plates fall, and, you know, what are you going to do then? We want people to understand that the idea that we have, to tell these connected stories, it is important that the world knows that the characters we create, their stories have to do with how humans interact with each other."

There you go, Marvel Studios is currently working on 31 projects both film and television. Based on our count, there are 23 projects that have been confirmed by the studio or reported by the major trades (including the soon-to-premiere Eternals and Hawkeye). That means there are more or less eight projects that are yet to be announced or officially reported. Perhaps we might hear those titles soon.

It is impressive that the studio is now at this point where they are working on 31 projects simultaneously. That shows that they have a lot of plans for the MCU. We can pretty much say that it became possible for them to work on projects at his number because of Disney+ which expanded their opportunity to develop more projects surrounding other more characters. This is proof that Marvel has a rich library, with so many characters and stories that are still yet to be seen on the screen.
