2023 seems to have just begun, but as the day goes by so quickly, the release date of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia has also been approaching. Ant-Man 3 is set to commence Marvel’s Phase 5, and one of the things that fans are hyping and speculating about is the role that Hollywood star Bill Murray is expected to assume. In the recent press release, the fans' queries have been answered.

Murray's role in the threequel has long been speculated by MCU fans, who first saw a glimpse of him in the first teaser. The latest marketing blast revealed that the Lost in Translation star will be playing Lord Krylar in Ant-Man 3.

"LORD KRYLAR is the governor of Axia, a bizarre and cushy community within the Quantum Realm. Call him cowardly or self-centered, Krylar unapologetically enjoys the high life his status grants him—expensive meals, exotic cocktails and top-notch transportation aboard his huge pleasure yacht. It seems he and Janet are old acquaintances—but the details are vague, and she’d like to keep it that way. Bill Murray portrays Lord Krylar." the statement read.

Despite being a non-Ant-Man character, Krylar first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #156, a 1972 story in which he was also killed. The green-skinned scientist has yet to make his MCU on screen debut, and some fans are thrilled that a Hollywood icon will be the one to play him.

Peyton Reed, the film's director, teased Entertainment Weekly in December that Murray's role would be important to the MCU epic, without revealing his true role. “Bill Murray plays a character from Janet van Dyne’s past... It’s a crucial role. A big theme in this movie is the things that parents and kids don’t say to each other, the secrets that they keep in families.”

He narrated, "What happens if the other person, in this case Janet, puts up a wall and maybe is not comfortable talking about certain things and doesn’t reveal certain things about her past? As we know from great stories, you can put the past behind you, but the past will always find a way to show up again. Bill’s character represents that in this movie.”
