Marvel Studios Reportedly Working on Mephisto Special

Last year, Marvel Studios started experimenting with the special presentation format where they tell stories within the MCU in a one-hour TV special storytelling. So far, both Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special were successes on Disney+ and fans are looking forward to seeing what's next in that format.

Now, it looks like we may have our first information on their next special as reporter Jeff Sneider revealed in The Hot Mic podcast that Marvel Studios is currently filming a Mephisto special on the set of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Sacha Baron Cohen is playing the titular character.

For the past few months, we have heard some rumors that Baron Cohen has joined the MCU to play the role of Mephisto in several projects such as Ironheart. So far, Marvel Studios has not confirmed the Oscar-nominated actor's casting in the franchise.

We also have to take this news with a grain of salt since Marvel Studios nor Disney themselves have mentioned publicly that they are working on a special featuring the villain. However, given that Baron Cohen's MCU casting rumor has been heating up, this is likely to be true.

Ever since WandaVision, a lot of fans have been speculating that Mephisto will be making an appearance although the character still has not made any presence as of the recent MCU project that Marvel Studios has released. Now, it looks like it is becoming a reality very soon.

For now, let's just wait and see whether this scoop ends up being true. If it does happen, fans will definitely be on board given the speculations that they have regarding the character and it is also interesting to see what they'll do with him in the special presentation format.
