Marvel Reportedly To Cancel Ant-Man 3 And Transfer Scott Lang To Disney+

Marvel fans might want to see Paul Rudd star in a third Ant-Man movie, however, there are new rumors circulating online saying that Marvel Studios might actually be considering developing an Ant-Man series for Disney+ instead of another standalone movie.

According to a report by Cosmic Book News, there's a rumor going around that Marvel is thinking of dropping plans for a third Ant-Man movie, saying that the studio would rather develop a series for Scott Lang instead.

This rumor may have yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios, but it sounds pretty reasonable for Marvel to drop Ant-Man 3, shifting Scott Lang to Disney+. Marvel has a lot of other major properties to develop – right now, the studio is busy hashing out the Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There's also the matter of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and all of the other mutant heroes that Marvel's gained from Disney's merger with Fox.

While the cancellation of Ant-Man 3 might disappoint fans, having Ant-Man head over to Disney+ might not be a terrible thing. Marvel has pretty big budget for its shows on Disney's upcoming streaming site, and a series will allow the studio to properly explore and develop characters like Michael Pena's Luis and Evangeline Lilly's Wasp. Most of Marvel's Disney+ series are reportedly going to come to up to 6 hours in total length – much longer than any Marvel movie.

What do you think of this new rumor? Would you rather have an Ant-Man series than another Ant-Man movie? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
