Tom Hiddleston Says Loki Series Will Reveal Whether The Asgardian Really Is Dead

Loki (Tom Hiddleston) might have fallen at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) during the opening arc of Avengers: Infinity War, however, the anti-hero is set to return in his own Marvel series in Disney's upcoming streaming platform, Disney+.

Speaking in an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hiddleston talks about the upcoming series, saying that Loki's appearance in Avengers: Endgame might actually play a role in the show.

"I can tell you this, actually," Hiddleston revealed on the late-night show. "In the years since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which came out this spring, two questions I have been asked [are] ‘Is Loki really dead?' And ‘What is Loki doing with that cube?' It's always the cube, somehow. And this series will answer both of those questions."

There isn't that much word about the Loki series just yet, but there have been reports saying that the show will follow the Asgardian God of Mischief hopping through real-life historical events, accidentally influencing the outcome of history. Speculation has it that the Loki that we're going to see in the series is actually going to be the same version of the trickster that fans got to meet in Avengers: Endgame.

In the film, the Avengers head to an alternate timeline, going through pivotal events of the MCU to retrieve the Infinity Stones and undo Thanos' Decimation. Though the Avengers' mission ends up being a success, Loki ends up disappearing with the Tesseract. We're most likely to see this version of Loki in Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series.

Disney+ is set to launch on November 12, 2019.
