Marvel Reportedly Developing Nova Solo Project

The Coronavirus outbreak may have caused several productions to shut down for the past few weeks but that doesn't mean that Marvel Studios is taking a break. A new report reveals that the studio is currently developing a new Marvel Cinematic Universe project that will focus on comic book character Nova.

The Illuminerdi points out that a current listing of MCU projects includes a spin-off that will feature Nova aka Richard Rider. The report states that it is not yet clear whether the project will be a new movie or a TV show but suggests that it could be a film that will be part of the MCU's Phase 5 slate.

Nova was created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr. and has appeared in several comic books. In the comics, Richard is a human who becomes a member of the Nova Corps, the Marvel Universe's intergalactic police force. The Nova Corps has previously appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy where they went up against Ronan the Accuser and his Sakaaran army.

This isn't the first time that a Nova solo film has been reported. Back in 2017, several outlets have pointed out that Nova could soon be joining the MCU. Although we have yet to get an official announcement from Marvel about the project, it's something to look forward to in the near future.
