Marvel Releases The Official MCU Timeline

It's no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a complicated storyline that can sometimes be confusing even to fans. Luckily, Marvel Studios has decided to solve this problem by releasing the franchise's official timeline.

The studio has released the official timeline in celebration of its tenth year anniversary. The timeline can be found in the Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years sourcebook and should effectively explain how time actually works in the MCU (via ScreenRant). Check it out below.

1943-1945:Captain America: The First Avenger
2010:Iron Man
2011:Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor
2012:The Avengers, Iron Man 3
2013:Thor: The Dark World
2014:Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
2015:Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man
2016:Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming
2016 through to 2017:Doctor Strange
2017:Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War

Interestingly, Ant-Man and the Wasp has been left out from the list. There is a possibility that the book and the official timeline were prepared before the film's release. Nevertheless, the sequel should be added to the 2017 line-up.

It's interesting to note that the two Guardians of the Galaxy films actually took place in the same year. In addition to that, the timeline also confirms that Spider-Man: Homecoming happened right after Captain America: Civil War to somehow explain a previous continuity error.

Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years also features exclusive interviews with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chadwick Boseman, and Chris Pratt. The book is published by Titan and will be available starting November 20.
