Kevin Feige's been an important pillar in the growth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, helping build the comic book universe from the very start of the franchise. Now, it looks like Marvel Studios' top brass is going to be awarded the 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award during the January 19, 2019 ceremony by the Producer's Guild of America.

PGA Presidents Gail Berman and Lucy Fisher recently released a statement regarding Feige's upcoming award as the recipient of the 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award, saying that the producer's accomplishment with Marvel Studios is one of the biggest success stories of the current generation.

According to Berman and Fisher, Marvel has shown the rest of Hollywood how to take the right steps towards representation and diversity, especially with films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

The statement reads (via ComicBook.com)

"Kevin Feige set for himself one of the most ambitious tasks ever attempted in cinematic storytelling, and then over-delivered on it. What Kevin has accomplished with Marvel Studios is one of the great success stories of this generation. And now, with Black Panther and the upcoming Captain Marvel, Kevin has broadened our entire industry's expectations for what tentpole movies look like — in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the audience. We're honored that he's accepted the PGA's David O. Selznick Award."

Feige will be joining other big names in the industry as the recipient of the PGA Award. Other producers who've won the David O. Selznick Achievement Award include the legendary Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Jerry Bruckheimer, and of course, Clint Eastwood.

Of course, there's no question why Feige's winning the award next year. The MCU has been nothing but a massive success, and Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp have helped push Marvel Studios earnings to about $4 billion at the global box office this year.

Marvel's next movie, Captain Marvel, is set to debut on March 8, 2019. Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
