Marvel might have one of the biggest and most successful film franchises in Hollywood right now, however, the studio doesn't find itself a stranger to rejection.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige just recently spoke during a question and answer segment at the New York Film Academy (via ComicBook.com), and during the event, the producer was asked about rejection. The Marvel executive was pretty candid during the question and answer gathering, revealing that even Marvel finds itself rejected from time to time.

Apparently, the studio pitched a movie to an actor that they really, really wanted for a project. It turns out, that the actor just really wasn't interested in what they had to offer.

"It happened the other day, with an actor," Feige said. "There's an actor we want for something, they come in, you give a big pitch and you can sort of tell they're not into it. 'I guess I'm a failure, I'll show them, we'll cast somebody even better.' So, it's just part of it and doesn't linger on them, is what I usually try to do, don't think too much about it, don't stew in it, move on quickly."

We would have loved for Marvel to reveal that actor's name, but it seems like the studio doesn't really want to advertise the name of the actor that spurned them. We're guessing it might be Keanu Reeves, a Hollywood A-lister that Marvel's been after for years. Of course, we could be wrong. It could have been a different actor.

Well, whoever it is, he or she may have had his or her reasons to turn down the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
