The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the biggest franchises with one of the biggest fandoms in the world. And while most of their casting and creative choices ended up being successful in the long run, Marvel Studios president says you should be having some kind of doubt towards them.

In a recent Q&A session at the New York Film Academy, Kevin Feige was asked about how the studio keeps up with the expectation of the viewers while keeping true to their own vision. To which he responded, "Up to this point, staying true with our vision has connected with fans." He says this is evident even with the studio's unexpected choices, and with filmmakers or actors that people haven't heard of before.

"What used to happen is that there'd be a big outcry and people would bemoan the choice and say it's terrible," he added. Feige then admitted that he would urge the team to prove everybody wrong and "do the work."

That being said, even though their choices are mostly received well by the fans, Feige would also want people to doubt these choices and to not just accept them blindly. "Now, and I don't know if this makes me any more comfortable, they say, ‘Oh I don't know who that is, but I trust them,'" he explained. "‘I'm like, don't trust us.' We have to prove it."

Basically, even though fans are confident with the studio's choices in terms of actors, directors, and the like, Feige makes it a point that people should still question their decisions and still have something to say about it.
