Disneyland has been planning a new campus attraction for years: the Marvel Multiverse roller coaster. News regarding the new Disneyland ride was last announced at D23 2022, leading fans to question whether we'll get an update at this year's D23 event. Here's what we know so far.
D23 2024 Unveils Marvel Multiverse Roller Coaster Ride
The convention took place in Anaheim, California last weekend. Apart from Captain America: Brave New World and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the panel brought up the highly anticipated attraction that's been teased since 2022.
From surprise appearances and intriguing new lineups, Disney Experiences projects were our ticket to unlocking their 2022 tease. The two-year-long overdue attraction kept us on our toes as we waited. Finally, it's here!
The King Thanos ride vehicle is based on the villain's variant where he surprisingly won the multiverse battle against the Avengers and wiped out half of Earth's population. Though it doesn't have an opening date yet, here's what D23 2024 revealed about the newest Marvel attraction.
The ride vehicle has three rows, where only 2-4 people can ride on each, with its design of red, black, and white reminiscent of the suits the Avengers wore in Avengers: Endgame. The Avengers logo is also embedded on the ride with the label, Multiworld Transport Vehicle.
The car ride has the same system utilized in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, which means the Imagineers of this newest ride will take fans on a trip to how our MCU heroes travel through the Multiverse soon.

Every Marvel Multiverse Disneyland Ride Update Since 2022
Disney's D23 Expo's Parks panel in 2022 featured Parks Chairman Josh D'Amaro and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
At the time, the roller coaster ride tease had yet to establish an official opening date. However, D'Amaro detailed that their parkgoers can see Avengers teaming up with heroes from multiple universes to come up against "King Thanos", a purple giant variant that won the end of Avengers: Endgame.
It is worth mentioning that The Avengers Campus area of Disney California Adventure Park opened in April 2021, after surviving the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the time, there had only been two attractions: Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! and interactive screen ride, Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. Since then, they've added Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle! and more.
By 2023, thanks to the booming success of Avatar: The Way of Water, CEO Bob Iger fast-tracked the project of adding Pandora to Animal Kingdom. No further announcements have leaned on any cancellations of the Marvel Multiverse rides. Yet. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
