She-Hulk has had an interesting journey in recent years, losing control of her Hulk form back in Civil War II, though she has been working on her restraint during Jason Aaron's Avengers run. In Avengers #27, the start of the Starbrand Reborn arc, Jennifer Walters got a new costume from Black Panther, which will supposedly harness her gamma emissions and prevent any more gamma-related explosions.
It's also essentially a bikini but we'll give them credit for keeping Jennifer in her bulky She-Hulk form. They could have easily transitioned into her much slimmer She-Hulk form we're all familiar with, giving males some obvious eye-candy and now we have some less-obvious eye-candy. Granted, it's still eye-candy but the look is interesting, to say the least.
And people thought Marvel was too liberal to give their female characters a revealing costume.
Frankly, we don't expect this gamma-controlling swimsuit to make it in the MCU but fans seem to be okay with the look. Granted, a lot of us really enjoyed She-Hulk's classic costume but that is also arguably a swimsuit, albeit a one-piece iteration.
Then again, superheroes constantly wear skin-tight costumes that show off their physique, albeit with some logo and other bits of clothing to block the dirty parts. We're sure this new She-Hulk costume will divide some fans but not in a crazy way like The Last Jedi did.
Avengers #27 is now available in comic book stores.
