Marvel Confirms Wanda/Vision Series For Disney’s Upcoming Streaming Site

Earlier this year, word came out that Disney was going to give Marvel characters who didn't have their own standalone films their very own mini-series on the Mickey Mouse House's upcoming streaming site, Disney+. Characters that were named in the reports included Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) as well as Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) together with Vision (Paul Bettany).

Now, as Avengers: Endgame approaches its release date, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirms the rumors revealing that the studio really is working on a live-action Disney+ series centered around Scarlett Witch and her lover, Vision (via ComicBook.com).

"We like to take big swings at Marvel Studios ... this story is definitely something unexpected and surprising, as well as something we can only do in a long-form series," Feige said.

Marvel fans were pretty excited about the prospect of Wanda getting her own show on Disney+ together with Vision, hoping that the series would explore Marvel's House of M comics.

For those who aren't familiar with the comic book, House of M features a startling story where Scarlet Witch suffers a mental break down and tries to change the trend of reality so she can bring back her children.

"Most exciting to us is that in addition to the films available on the platform, Marvel will be creating original series just for Disney+," Feige said. "Over the course of the 23 films, we've pulled together a roster of amazing actors and talented filmmakers, and we're excited to continue to work with these individuals to tell new, long-form stories in ways that we've never done before. These shows will be on the same level of quality that you've come to expect from Marvel Studios, and we'll be taking advantage of that creative freedom that Disney+ offers exploring the MCU, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with our favorite characters over multiple episodes. These will be both new and continuing stories, and one of the things we're most excited about is that these will be major storylines set in the MCU with ramifications that will be felt both through the other Disney+ series we're producing and our features on the big screen."

This is definitely big news for Marvel fans. Scarlett Witch and Vision had a heartbreaking end in Avengers: Infinity War. Not only was Wanda forced to kill Vision with her own powers, but all her hard work was undone after Thanos (Josh Brolin) turned back time with the Time Stone and plucked the Mind Stone right out of Visions head.

We can't wait to see the two return in Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
