It may have taken them over a decade but Marvel Studios finally acknowledged the existence of Edward Norton's Incredible Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, longtime followers of the franchise are well aware that Mark Ruffalo wasn't the original actor to play the Green Goliath. Norton, like most MCU actors, was always meant to play the character on several projects but a creative dispute between him and the studio led to his controversial exit.

Now, some of you might not have caught it but She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's Episode 2 cleverly referenced Ruffalo replacing Norton and the meta-joke has been talked about on social media over the last 24 hours.

It turns out that Norton no longer has beef with Marvel Studios, as revealed by Ruffalo himself who recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly to express his excitement over the MCU finally breaking the fourth wall with the original Hulk actor. According to Mark, he's even joked with the actor about their Hulk connection, proving that there's no bad blood between the two.

He shared: "I think it’s really funny. It’s just the reality that we all are often dancing around, but it’s true. I actually joked with Ed about this. I was like, ‘It’s like our generation’s Hamlet. Everyone’s going to get a shot at it.’ And there’ll probably be another couple before it’s all over. People will be like, ‘Remember when the Hulk used to look like Mark Ruffalo? Now it looks like Timothée Chalamet.’"

With the MCU in the midst of its Multiverse Saga, I'd definitely like to see Edward be given the chance to reprise his Hulk character just so he'll finally have his closure. Not that he needs one but I think it would be neat to see him interact with Mark's version of the character.

The first two episodes of Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+.
