Stan Lee might be gone but his impact on the comic book industry will be felt forever. "The Man" was responsible for making the current Marvel universe feel like a living, breathing entity with a number of characters that often interacted with each other (and editor notes telling fans to buy the other comics). Unsurprisingly, a lot of comic universes that have come after try their best to follow what Stan laid the groundwork on.
One well-known comic book name who managed to make a successful universe is Mark Millar, whose Millarworld line of comics became so popular that Netflix ended up buying it for future adaptations and additional funds. Since Stan's passing, Millar went to Twitter and talked about how Lee was one of the reasons why he made his own characters and comic book line.
I told him I was loving writing all his old characters and he told me pop-culture stagnates unless new ones are created. He convinced me I had it in me and I started Wanted next day.

Millar remembered a conversation he had with Lee and recalled saying that he liked working on Lee's characters, such as Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four. Stan then told Millar that pop culture stagnates unless new characters are created, which eventually led to the creations of Wanted, Kick-Ass, Superior, Magic Order, and so much more.
The Millarworld creator feels that if Stan didn't tell him this, there wouldn't have been a big Netflix deal made for his comic book line. Stan was a huge influence on the comic book industry and he will definitely be missed by everyone.
