Mark Hamill’s Chucky Talks in New Trailer for Child’s Play

Besides coming back for Star Wars Episode IX, Mark Hamill is going to be providing the voice for Chucky the killer doll in the Child's Play reboot. A new trailer has just dropped for the movie, and we get to hear what Hamill's Chucky will sound like in the movie.

Unlike the original film, this reboot will try to make Chucky's origin more sci-fi than supernatural. Whereas the original movie had a serial killer transfers his soul into a doll, it looks like Chucky in this movie is a high-tech toy that allows users to connect him to almost every high-tech device in the home—basically making him way more OP than the original incarnation.

In the trailer, we see Chucky seemingly terrorizing a collective group of people, and the doll even comes with its own inner camera so it would be a different form of storytelling when we get Chucky's POV.

With the producers of IT also onboard, it seems that the movie is going to have a group of kids going up against Chucky as compared to the doll just terrorizing one boy. I guess this kind of makes horror films more digestible to people who don't really watch the genre. It's much less stressful to see a group of kids go against a doll as compared to just having one character on the brink of death.

At least, that's my opinion.

The Child's Play reboot is set to come out June 21.
