Mark Hamill Teases Star Wars Fans That Rey Is Actually Luke’s Daughter

Mark Hamill's always been a joker. The Star Wars actor might be a legend, but Hamill loves to play around with the overly speculative imagination of the Star Wars fanbase.

Right after The Force Awakens, Hamill started calling his Star Wars co-star John Boyega his son on Twitter, knowing that fans would start wondering whether Finn was actually related to Luke. Before The Last Jedi premiered last year, the Star Wars legend also went along with fans theories that Luke actually turns to the Dark Side in the film because of his placement in the movie's posters.

Now, as fans wait for Star Wars: Episode 9's premiere next year, Hamill's decided to go trolling again, feeding the hope that Daisy Ridley's Rey might actually be Luke's daughter.

Taking to Twitter, Hamill recently shared a shout out to his Star Wars co-star, calling the British actress "brilliantly natural, instinctive actor, a delight to work with and the best piggy-back ride in the business."

While the tweet might seem nothing but a Daisy Ridley appreciation post, Hamill also added in a teasing line, saying that "Luke should be so lucky to have had such a lovely daughter."

The Last Jedi might have revealed Rey to be the daughter of a couple of junkers on Jakku, but some have been hoping that Episode IX would turn things around and reveal that the Jakku orphan's actually the blood-relative of a legacy character like Luke or Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now, it looks like Hamill's trying to feed those hopes, being the prankster that he is.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD.
