Mark Hamill Greets His 'Dad' Hayden Christensen on His Birthday

Though they never shared the screen together, Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen are going to be forever linked because of their characters Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Christensen actually just celebrated a birthday yesterday, and who should greet him but his estranged son from a galaxy far far away?

Check out the post from Hamill:

If anything, you could say that Hamill and Christensen had shared a film with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with Hamill reprising Luke and Christensen voicing Anakin in Rey's final vision. If you want to look at the revised edition of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, they replaced old Anakin with the Force ghost of young Anakin played by Christensen.

Though Christensen did get a lot of flak back when the prequels came out, his ‘true' fans have now gotten older and their appreciation for him has become more apparent throughout the years. We don't know if Christensen will ever come back for an onscreen role, but a lot of people are hopeful that he would make a guest appearance in the upcoming Obi-Wan series for Disney+. Fingers crossed they make a Darth Vader series and have Christensen play all the parts of Vader without the mask.

For now, Star Wars is looking to take a hiatus from the box office, and the next film is set to hit theaters in 2022. Personally, I liked the thought of one film a year, but I guess it doesn't leave enough room for error, especially with multiple directors getting fired over the last few films.

If anything, the next season of The Mandalorian is set to hit Disney+ this October.
