Mark Hamill Gets Honest About The Empire Strikes Back’s Luke and Vader Twist

It goes without saying that Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back gave us arguably one of the most iconic and recognizable lines in film history, not to mention a massive plot twist that was unheard of during the time — when Darth Vader finally revealed to Luke Skywalker that he is his father.

Many fans still consider it to this day the most jaw-dropping moment in Star Wars history and of course, for good reason. Surprisingly enough, Mark Hamill apparently had a different opinion of the whole Luke and Vader twist when he first learned about it over 40 years ago.

When asked by a fan on Twitter how he responded to the now-iconic "No, I am your father" moment, the Star Wars icon replied: "It made me wish I was an orphan again."

The ever-so-social-media-savvy actor even pinned the tweet to let the whole world know about his true feelings towards Episode V's pivotal sequence. Now, whether he's just messing around or not, we'll never know. Check out the tweet below:

Speaking of the Sith Lord and his son, Star Wars is currently exploring the events that would eventually lead to the original trilogy in the hit Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the closing moments of Episode 5, it was teased that Vader will be meeting a young Skywalker for the very first time in Tatooine. Question is, will he actually make an attempt to take back the future Jedi Master?
