It's no secret that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been clamoring to see Mark Hamill become part of the billion-dollar franchise for years now. Most of them are convinced that the Star Wars icon finally made his MCU debut in James Gunn's much-talked-about The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. One scene from the Phase 4 epilogue sees a Ravager who bears striking resemblance to the Luke Skywalker actor drinking liquor on Knowhere.

Naturally, the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment had many fans in a frenzy but shockingly enough, there seems to be suspicion surrounding the real identity of the actor who played the extra part in the special. Mark's son Nathan quickly debunked his father's involvement in the GOTG Holiday Special on Twitter to which the actor responded: "It's not?"

Hamill's remark can be taken two ways, of course, depending on how you'd like to interpret his tweet. What do you think? Was that random Ravager actually the great Jedi Master from a galaxy far, far away? Check it out here:

It's worth noting that Hamill and Gunn are good friends in real life and the idea of the director recruiting the 71-year-old actor to become part of one of his final MCU projects doesn't seem too farfetched to believe. On the other hand, however, an actor of Hamill's caliber being reduced to a small cameo role seems like a disservice to the acting legend and one would assume that he'd at least be given a more substantial role.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is now streaming on Disney+.
