Even way back in The Force Awakens, a portion of the Star Wars fandom have been hoping that Finn and Poe's friendship would somehow blossom into a rather more intimate one in The Rise of Skywalker. Oscar Isaac is all in for this budding romance, and it seems like Mark Hamill approves of it too.
This article contains potential SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Taking to Twitter, the Star Wars alum penned a love poem for the pair. Hamill wrote, even though Luke Skywalker never met Finn and Poe and that he isn't aware of what happens behind closed doors, "love is love," and they could do stuff whatever they please. You can check out his emotional poem below.
Star Wars fans really appreciated the actor's tweet, because not only is he supportive of the StormPilot shippers, he is also sending a heartwarming message to all of his fans and followers. Love is love, indeed.
Isaac really wanted to explore more of the dynamic between "these two men at war" who could have fallen in love with each other at some point. The actor admitted that he would try to "push it" in that direction, but Isaac says the "Disney overlords" aren't ready to do something like that.
It seems like there wouldn't be any progress between Finn and Poe, especially since the latter character was paired up with Zorii Bliss in Episode IX. Regardless, it seems like that kiss at the end of the movie could very well be the tip of the iceberg in terms of LGBTQ+ representation in the Star Wars universe.
