There's no doubt that James Gunn is the breath of fresh air the DC Extended Universe desperately needs and while the current state of the franchise isn't as bad as it was several years ago, having Gunn on board could be a game-changer for them. Given Gunn's experience and impressive MCU track record, fans are under the impression that he'll be able to replicate his success over at DC and to be fair, things are looking pretty great with The Suicide Squad already getting rave reviews ahead of its release.

In a recent interview with Access, the Australian star explained the importance of seeing The Suicide Squad after the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily shut down theaters. She would later make a bold claim that the film might go down in history as the greatest comic book movie ever made.

Margot says: 'Even if this movie wasn't as incredible as it is, it's still worth going to the theater just because it's so nice to be able to go to a movie theater again. But it just so happens that this is arguably one of the greatest, if not the greatest comic book film ever made. You don't want to miss it."

The argument is purely subjective, of course, and you honestly can't blame the actress for taking so much pride in their film. And as a huge Harley Quinn fan, I feel like The Suicide Squad will finally give the character her crowning moment that the original Suicide Squad film and Birds of Prey failed to give her. I mean, Margot is already the perfect live-action Harley Quinn but it would be awesome to finally see her shine.

Meanwhile, The Suicide Squad is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 5, 2021. It will also be available on the same day on HBO Max.
