Earlier this week, there were several reports suggesting that Delroy Lindo is in talks to join the cast of the Blade reboot. Although his possible role was not revealed, it is believed that Lindo will play Jamal Afari, Eric Brooks' mentor in the comics.

Over the years, he has mastered his own style of fighting monsters of all kinds."

The synopsis ends with a note stating that the film is "scheduled to begin production in late summer 2021." This seems to be in line with speculations that the Blade reboot will start filming by next year and will be released sometime in 2023.
