Magic: The Gatherings' Urza Finally Gets His Own Planeswalker Card

Today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed that Urza, mastermind, creator of Tolarian Academy, and enemy of Phyrexia, is getting his own Planeswalker card in the next wacky Magic: The Gathering set, Unstable. Just like most cards from Unstable, Urza, Academy Headmaster is crazy. Check it out:

Yup! It's the first Magic card that requires you to go to AskUrza.com to generate abilities for players when they activate it. If you visit the site right now, you can get an idea of how Urza will work, but you'll have to wait until December 8, the day after Unstable's release day before you can actually generate an ability.

If you're familiar with the old Magic storylines, you'd know that Urza is already dead, so it makes sense that his head is the only part of his body featured in this card's art. Is this a sign that the great Urza will return in next year's Dominaria set? We'll have to wait and see.

Unstable will launch December 8, 2017, and MSRP for each booster pack is $3.99 for U.S. stores.
