The fairy tale-themed Magic: The Gathering expansion, Throne of Eldraine, will feature cards with unique mechanics we've never seen before like Adventure cards, creatures that eat or make Food tokens, and today, MTG head designer Mark Rosewater revealed a new colored Artifact card that essentially does what white Enchantment cards have done before: Exiles a creature.
Over on Twitter, Rosewater revealed "Glass Casket", a flavorful two-to-cast white Artifact card that can exile a creature with converted mana cost 3 or less. Check it out:
While some fans on Twitter are wondering why its ability is identical to white enchantments we've already seen before but according to Rosewater, it's all about the flavor, and since Throne of Eldraine is fairy tale-themed, you can actually use this on a "Charming Prince", and have him freed by "True Love's Kiss" card.
In addition to "Glass Casket" and other Throne of Eldraine cards revealed today, Wizards of the Coast revealed a few more cards from the forthcoming set. Check them out:
Knight of the Keep
"Red Cap Brawl"
Red Cap Brawl deals 4 damage to target creature or planeswalker. If it deals damage to a non-red permanent, you sacrifice a land.
